It must have at least an upgrade of the amplifier as it is I think 825w as opposed to 325w of the midline system! |

What Model/MY? Do you have speakers in your rear pillars. Meridian? I don't understand otherwise!

I must have mis-understood your post I have the lesser power meridian system in my my13 XS with no rear pillar speakers and just mentioned the additional power of the premium audio as probably also significant . |

Wiring for speakers is all there, you will also need to replace the amplifier in the boot which is about 700 pounds. I have all the information for the head units but haven't had a chance to verify everything but at this stage it looks like there is a difference between Hi-Line and Premium units. If this doesn't phase you then all that is needed is to change CCF. I have all the part nos if you need them. MY15

If you have all the info and part numbers why not just post them? It will help others out on the forum. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Don't forget that perceived volume is logarithmic ie a 100w amp only sounds twice as loud as a 10w and since speakers are very inefficient (just a few percent), heavier duty ones might actually be delivering less. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Stuart - I'm planning on upgrading Meridian system in my wife's new Ewok, Topix lists it as 'Branded Sound Sys (L3)' Any idea what level this is? 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Hey Jim! I Havn't come across that description in any of the literature/tech for this topic! Thank you to Cambo for the link and yes there is only two Meridian Systems used. Jim I'm guessing in the Evoke, which uses the same hardware that the reason for the different description is that the Evoke has extra options like television and surround camera systems which have to utilise the Meridian hardware, hence different description to the Freelander. It's also possible it's an accessory or entertainment Pak Description describing Meridian system and TV, fixed camera or surround camera added. Maybe check Evoke accessory specification descriptions. In regard to your wife's Evoke the easiest way to identify if you have Hi-Line or Premium is to go into "settings" and if you have soft keys for Sub/Base/Terrible/Fad/bal only then you have Hi/Line. If "Meridian" or "Dolby Pro-Logic" etc soft keys are displayed then it's Premium. In relation to the Freelander it's very easy to upgrade from Hi-Line to Premium. Firstly wiring is identical between the systems. The ICE Amplifier is located in the rear, drivers side, behind the wheel arch. Hi-Line Amplifier is LR052494. Premium Amplifier is LR045327 which is now supersedes to LR059385. You will also need to change the head unit behind the Dash. Hi-Line Unit is LR057333. Premium unit is LR048038. All that's required then is to add 3 more speakers D-Pillar units LR001846 (left) LR001845 (Right) Centre Dash speaker LR001695. All other speakers are present in Hi-line system. Last thing is a change to CCF and you have the upgrade. I'm currently pretty impressed with the Hi-Line system so havn't done this upgrade as yet so if anyone wants to have a go and report back MY15 Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Surround Camera System InControl Apps soon to be replaced with CarPlay (WIP) Meridian Premium Surround Sound Digital Audio Broadcast Timed Climate Cruise ECO Data Follow Me Home Reverse Extra Features Menu Picture In Motion 4x4i screen (WIP) Digital Broadcast TV Meridian Rear Media with WIFI Factory Powered Tailgate Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) Reverse Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) Electrochromatic Wing Mirrors (WIP) |
